I’m going to try and comment on the rest in one comment….

Helen – Wild Card gave me a chill indeed… the cryptic message ‘soon,, very soon…’… somehow I don’t think it is referring to a weekend picnic. Three little words filled with menace. First rate tale!
=================================
AJ – Last Exit is brilliant! Your words evoke such dark melancholy… I’m sure it was only my imagination last night while reading this… something unseen brushing against my shoulder… gave me ‘goose-bumpies’! An almost crushing sadness in that last line… “forever looking for the last exit.” Brava!
=================================
Phil – Source reveals the horrific justice that awaits the monster’s sin… brutal and dark… no less than the pervert deserves… scary and brilliant! Frighteningly vivid imagery in a short tale. Well done, sir!

Years ago, I saw an image on a blog… it was horrific and gave me nightmares. A woman, naked and bloodied, in a field… impaled in the same manner… what appeared to be a battle-scarred village in the background. When I wrote Vengeance Is Mine, I used that image.
=================================
Marietta – The Agreement is beautifully written. I love how it starts… almost benign, just a hint of darkness, and then… such elegant words… ‘pristine china dolls’… ‘purple harlequins’… oh, but wait… the horror slams into one’s brain with that last sentence… “And methinks I shall start with you” the devil grinned.

Chillingly done… brava, Marietta!
==================================
Reba – Golden Gate is pure horror… every sentence dark with menace… a fairy tale with no happy ending.

Evocative writing… perfect imagery to instill fear in the not-so-innocent. Methinks it shall be a while before I go riding on another carousel!
==================================
Anthony – Misery-Go-Round gives a nightmarish glimpse into the wicked ‘humour’ of the Dark Imp… left me a bit breathless, and that next-to-last sentence –

‘Corn dogs and burnt popcorn drifted from the east” - delivered in such an ‘off-handed’ manner, just make the tale that much more chilling.

Brrrr…….
==================================

Matt – The Waltz of Blades--- just the title itself had my brain filling with dread… Poe does that to me too.

Vivid imagery… ‘machinery of death’… I can almost hear the gears and belts grinding toward the inevitability of the next victim.

Classic terror… very well written, Matt. Thank you!
==================================

Dion – Ourobori chilled me right to the core! Dark and brutal… that last sentence – ‘the baby’s throat was crushed’ brought such a horrified gasp from my throat, Tina rushed in the room to see what was the matter.

Of course, it didn’t help, seeing my name just above, and the fact that Tina and I are trying to get [her] pregnant right now.

Great little tale… going go turn up the heat now… I’ve gotten a sudden chill!
==================================Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13430872985988041256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536979460489400599.post-68758388212387256912012-03-17T06:44:24.233+00:002012-03-17T06:44:24.233+00:00(posted this awhile ago, but it either disappears ...(posted this awhile ago, but it either disappears or expresses itself twice - Blogger's on overload?)

HOLY HUMPAGE, YOU DID IT AGAIN!

twenty-three spectres shuffled through the pervading silence, forever looking for the last exit. Sadly, so sadly the crash crushed the prior home of joy and fun to no end to its creaky crumbly end.
